(CSR) Cashier/ Sales Assistant & Customer Assistant

Cashier/Sales Assistant & Customer Assistant (CSR) combines the duties of a cashier with sales and customer service responsibilities, often within a retail or service-oriented environment. They are responsible for processing transactions, providing customer assistance, and promoting sales. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cashiering:Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, processing payments, issuing receipts, and balancing the cash register. 
  • Sales Assistance:Assisting customers with finding products, providing information about merchandise, and potentially promoting sales or special offers. 
  • Customer Service:Greeting customers, answering questions, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. 

Typical Tasks:

  • Greeting customers and providing a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Scanning items, calculating total costs, and processing payments.
  • Bagging or boxing purchases, and ensuring items are properly packed.
  • Restocking shelves and maintaining displays.
  • Answering customer inquiries about products, services, and promotions.
  • Handling customer complaints and resolving issues effectively.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
  • Processing returns and exchanges.
  • Upselling and cross-selling products to increase sales.
