HEAD ACCOUNTS OFFICER / ADMINISTRATOR ROLE

I. Core Responsibilities

A. Financial Oversight

  1. Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Develop and oversee annual budgets.
    • Monitor budget implementation and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  2. Financial Reporting
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  3. Auditing & Compliance
    • Liaise with internal and external auditors.
    • Ensure compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  4. Accounts Management
    • Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations.
    • Supervise general ledger functions and ensure timely closings.

B. Administrative Leadership

  1. Office Management
    • Ensure smooth day-to-day administrative operations.
    • Maintain office systems, supplies, and facilities.
  2. Policy Implementation
    • Develop, review, and enforce administrative and financial policies.
    • Monitor compliance across departments.
  3. Staff Supervision
    • Lead and mentor finance and administrative teams.
    • Conduct performance reviews and recommend training/development.
  4. Procurement Oversight
    • Approve major purchases and contracts.
    • Ensure procurement policies are followed.

II. Skills & Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. CPA, ACCA, CMA or similar certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in senior accounting or administrative roles.
  • Key Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
    • Deep knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
    • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
    • Familiarity with corporate law, HR policies, and compliance
