Merchandiser/Cashier & Sales Assistant is a retail role that combines responsibilities for product presentation, sales transactions, and customer service. They ensure products are displayed attractively and effectively, process sales transactions accurately, and provide excellent customer service to enhance the overall shopping experience. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Presentation:Merchandising involves arranging and displaying products to maximize their appeal and visibility to customers. This includes tasks like stocking shelves, creating eye-catching displays, and maintaining a clean and organized sales floor. 
  • Sales Transactions:As cashiers, they process sales transactions accurately, handle payments (cash, credit, debit), and provide receipts. 
  • Customer Service:They greet customers, assist with inquiries, provide product information, and resolve customer complaints. 
  • Inventory Management:They may be involved in tasks like tracking inventory levels, reporting low stock, and assisting with stock counts. 
  • General Support:They may also be involved in tasks like cleaning, maintaining a tidy work area, and assisting with other store operations as needed. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and providing assistance. 
  • Sales Skills: The ability to promote products and encourage sales is important. 
  • Cash Handling: Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling is crucial.
