🤝 CUSTOMER ASSISTANT

(Also known as Retail Assistant or Sales Floor Assistant)

Role Summary:

The Customer Assistant supports customers throughout the store by offering assistance, restocking shelves, and maintaining a welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist customers with inquiries.
  • Guide customers to products and explain features or promotions.
  • Restock shelves and maintain product displays.
  • Monitor product availability and report low stock.
  • Keep the store tidy and clean.
  • Assist with returns, complaints, or online pickup orders.
  • Sometimes support checkout or self-service areas.

Required Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Knowledge of store layout and product range.
  • A friendly and helpful attitude.
  • Problem-solving and multitasking.
  • Teamwork and flexibility to support different tasks.

🔄 Combined Duties (When Roles Overlap):

In many stores, a single team member may perform both roles depending on business needs. This means:

  • Switching between cashier and sales floor tasks.
